Under the New Zealand-Viet Nam Comprehensive Partnership, the two governments have identified tourism as a key sector with significant potential for future growth.

In 2014, over 3000 Vietnamese visited New Zealand, a 50% increase since 2007. In the year to November 2014, 33,000 New Zealand citizens visited Viet Nam.

The return of direct flights on New Zealand’s national carrier, Air New Zealand, to Singapore, with code-sharing services to Viet Nam plus recent revisions to the Air Services Agreement will improve the connectivity and ease of travel between the two countries in future.
